This simply spiked cider is served with warm oven baked apple crisps.
Some Mondays just drive you to drink, don’t they?
This past one was one of them for me.

As if the first day of the work week doesn’t suck enough as it is, waking up Monday morning knowing your week doesn’t end until a red eye flight home Saturday morning from a west coast work trip takes the sucktasticness of the day to a whole other level.
A level which requires booze.
Spike apple cider rimmed with sugar and cinnamon and fun crispy apple chips to be exact. This recipe baked the chips in the oven but you can also make dehydrated apples using a dehydrator if you have one.

Is there anything better than a warm mug of spiked cider on a cold fall day while you wait for dinner to cook?
In this case the answer is yes.
And it involves your husband not watching 25 year old Miami Vice episodes on Netflix while doing so.

Because if Monday didn’t drive you to drink, 1983 Don Johnson will.

This recipe is great. This would be great warmed up on a cold winter night without the rum (since I don’t drink). Thanks for the recipe.
Yum!! With 3 kids *any* day of the week drives me to drink. Except I actually hardly drink at all… Maybe 3 little kids would be easier to deal with if I did…. Haha. Even a virgin version of this sounds yummy though :)
First time here, this looks delicious.
Haha, I could definitely use a glass [or two] of this while my hubby is watching his favorite shows :P Or maybe I’ll share with him and he’ll share the remote?!
Could these be any more perfect for fall?! I think not. Gorgeous pictures!
I know that feeling too well. But this is basically just apple juice right? Totally acceptable to drink at all times of the day ; )
Blue Mondays do get under my skin once in a while. However Mondays or not I think your “simply spiked cider with oven baked apple crisps” is one way to rev up ones senses once a gloomy mood strike. By the way is it only turbinado sugar that can make that awesome rim garnish?
no, you can definitely use regular sugar. Turbinado is just bigger crystals and looks prettier on the rim ;)
I love those apple crisps.. have to make them soon!
drinks are always better spiked! ;)
Actually I think that episode was from 1988 not 83…But he was cool both years as far as I’m concerned:)
