This simply spiked cider is served with warm oven baked apple crisps.
Some Mondays just drive you to drink, don’t they?
This past one was one of them for me.

As if the first day of the work week doesn’t suck enough as it is, waking up Monday morning knowing your week doesn’t end until a red eye flight home Saturday morning from a west coast work trip takes the sucktasticness of the day to a whole other level.
A level which requires booze.
Spike apple cider rimmed with sugar and cinnamon and fun crispy apple chips to be exact. This recipe baked the chips in the oven but you can also make dehydrated apples using a dehydrator if you have one.

Is there anything better than a warm mug of spiked cider on a cold fall day while you wait for dinner to cook?
In this case the answer is yes.
And it involves your husband not watching 25 year old Miami Vice episodes on Netflix while doing so.

Because if Monday didn’t drive you to drink, 1983 Don Johnson will.

This sounds like the perfect winter drink whenever we FINALLY make our move to the mountains :)
Every day merits spiking of any and all beverages.
Even water.
Ooh, yum! Just pinned!
Ha, this cracked me up. And also made me want to drink… which is bad since it’s not even 11 am yet. Oh well ;)
This looks delicious!
If I drank while planning, prepping or making dinner, it’d be all over the floor. I’m such a lightweight. But hey, if it means drowning out Miami Vice, I’m down. My boyfriend does the same thing. He was on a Knight Rider kick a couple of months ago. Ugh.
Have to ask, what kind of lighting do you use in your shots? It’s so great!
nothing special, just my dining room table. the front of my house gets A LOT of light throughout the entire day so I’m just kinda lucky :) I’m not even telling my husband Knight Rider is on there for fear that will be my life for the entire winter.
Oh gosh ya, do NOT tell him. It’ll open up a whole lot of no good.
I’m so jealous of the natural light. Our new house is really bad for lighting… like… the WORST!
This looks SO good and right up my alley. Can’t wait to try this – I love the mason jars!
Aren’t apple chips simply amazing?! They never last long here. I should probably whip some up again soon!
I hope your having a good week! I so understand! This week has sucked the big one! My commute is crappy as it is, normally takes me 40 minutes to get to work, and that is traveling 25 miles. Yesterday it took 2 hours! I was late, I didn’t care and boy was I crabby!! I hate beginning of the week. Looking forward to being off next week, hope you are!
Your drink looks wonderful, think I’m going to have one tonight!
I’m a wimp, I’d have to do it without the rum but I’ll take the virgin version whilst getting the rest of my family tipsy. ;)
