These breakfast yogurt bowls are topped with a tart cherry ginger muesli.
Loaded with oats, almonds, cacao nibs, ginger, dried tart cherries and warm spices. With a swirl of cherry sauce, it’s a tasty and nutritious way to start the day.
I feel like we just don’t do muesli enough in this country. I mean, do you ever see it on menus anywhere or hotel breakfast spreads?
No.
Oatmeal reigns supreme in these parts but go to Europe and muesli is everywhere.
Actually, in the Caribbean too which is where I got the idea for this strawberry lemon overnight muesli.

I don’t quite get it either because muesli is basically the lazy man’s oatmeal and we all know American’s love to be lazy.
It’s all the elements of a good bowl of oats but uncooked, allowing you to do with it as you please.
Want to cook it up as oatmeal? Go right ahead!
Want to sprinkle it on top of a bowl of yogurt or cottage cheese for a higher protein meal? That works too!
Either way, having a jar of premixed muesli on hand is never a bad thing for breakfasts in a hurry.

This tart cherry ginger muesli pretty much puts together everything I’d add to my dream bowl of oatmeal: sweet and tangy dried Montmorency (tart) cherries, little bits of candied ginger, warm spices like cinnamon and cardamom, cacao nibs for crunch, sliced almonds for some healthy, buttery fats and of course, oats.
Every bite is as texturally diverse as it is flavor-wise.
Could you sprinkle this generously over a plain bowl of yogurt? Absolutely.
But why not accompany that with a quick tart cherry sauce (like in these chocolate cherry steel cut oats) too for a double punch of flavor and nutritional benefits?

Montmorency cherries have long been known for their potential anti-inflammatory properties and helpfulness in aiding in muscle soreness recovery from exercise.
Coupled with ginger, an ingredient also known to help reduce inflammation, this tart cherry ginger muesli is perfect for any athlete looking to reap all the recovery benefits possible from their breakfast whether it’s marathon running or high-intensity CrossFit workouts!

And, in one tasty as heck way.
They’re also a natural sleep aid since they help bolster the production of melatonin in the body so if you’re not popping one of these tart cherry gummies before bed you can also indulge in a small bowl of this muesli instead!

My boyfriends mom makes a huge batch of muesli every week and she always give us some when we visit her. It’s way better than oatmeal!
