This gingerbread white Russian is the perfect holiday cocktail full of rich coffee flavor mixed with a sweet molasses drizzle. Say cheers!
The place we’re staying in Grenada is a cute little cottage on a three acre property steps from the beach.
It reminds me of old school 1960s Florida in compound form or, a nudest colony just minus the nude people thankfully.
The thing is, while the bedrooms are air-conditioned, the living and kitchen area is like one big lanai.
Awesome in theory, really freaking hot in reality.
Like to the point where if we do anything (like just sit at the table and write this blog post) it causes us to sweat. Showers are pretty much required after making eggs and bacon in the morning and even my beloved hot coffee doesn’t sound appealing with the heat.
So, it’s kind of weird to look at these pictures and talk about Christmas, molasses, ginger (mmm, that makes me think of these chocolate chunk molasses gingerbread cookies) and holiday parties because there’s nothing about 90 degree humid days that make me think about the holidays.
But, since today marks the beginning of December and all those things are upon us, I’ll sacrifice some sweat to talk about all of them.
I had a white Russian obsession junior year of college.
Probably not the best drink to order in mass quantities at a college bar, but that didn’t stop me.
I love it’s creaminess and how there’s no eye-balls popping out of your head “omg that’s too strong” kind of reactions when you take a sip.
It also happens to lend itself quite nicely to being dressed up for Christmas as a Gingerbread white Russian.
With the addition of molasses, ginger and a cinnamon sugar rimmed glass, this classic drink transforms into the perfect holiday cocktail.
I used the new Absolut Limited Edition Andy Warhol vodka for the drink because it adds the perfect pop with it’s fun and vibrant design.
The bottle is modeled off Warhol’s iconic Absolut artwork that he created in 1986 and it’s pop-art design is a great addition to anyone’s cocktail bar whether it’s yours or your holiday party host.
I can guarantee you the bottle will get plenty of use this holiday season once you taste this gingerbread white Russian!
Pair it with a slice of this gingerbread banana bread loaf on a cold winter late afternoon for a festive combination!

What a festive twist!
What a fantastic holiday cocktail! I need to give this a try!
HOLY COW – heck yes!! This is blowing my mind.
Love it! I really like the addition of molasses to this drink. Will make this tomorrow again!
Kahlua and vodka are always in my house. Love these. And now I’m awfully thirsty!
The beach sounds fantastic right about now. I love me a good White Russian. I’ll take two! Pinned.
Wow. What a beauty. I try not to drink that often, but I am totally a vodka girl when I do. And anything flavoured like gingerbread is absolutely my favourite.
I will definitely be indulging in these this holiday season!!
White Russians were “my thing” back in the day. I love the addition of molasses to this drink. If it wasn’t for the calories and having to avoid hangovers, I think I could drink this by the liter!
White Russians are still my husbands and I’s guilty pleasure, mostly during the winter, but during the summer how can you deny a cocktail that takes like a chocolate milk!
I went through a White Russian phase a few years ago and methinks it’s time for another one, starting with this recipe!
