Been experimenting a lot with protein pancakes recently. It’s an art to make them light and fluffy and not too thick. I’ll have to try these!

Love your blog, by the way. I think we follow a lot of the same people and are both Tasty Kitchen fans, because you keep popping up all over the place. Take a peek at mine if you’d like.

A good friend of mine is deployed and she is a body builder and die hard clean eater. Any ideas for some yummy clean treats I could make for her that could keep a week in the mail on the way to her?

There is a lot missing on the Grownup Hamburger Helper Mac and Cheese recipe.

Anyone who has made would you please clarify directions?

Elisa- if you tell me what you think is missing I can clarify, but the directions are correct and comprehensive.

Gina,

They are not comprehensive. I read them several times and had another person read them as well. The confusion starts after line 4. Theres nothing about when to add the water, seasonings, milk etc. Unless you have made Hamburger Helper in the past you wouldn’t be able to understand it.

I ended up searching a hamburger helper recipe and managed to figure it out. The recipe came out FANTASTIC I couldn’t believe how good it was!

I’m new to this site and LOVE IT! This is only the second recipe I have made.. The recipe is too good for anyone not to get it..

Keep the recipes coming!

Thanks

Elisa

Hi Elisa- this is what I see in step #5: “Add cornstarch through pasta, stir, bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer and cover for about 10 minutes.”…. ”

the add cornstarch THROUGH pasta part addresses when to add milk, seasonings, etc. if following the ingredient list as it’s written.

I’m glad you figured it out regardless though and liked it!

If I may add a suggestion and perhaps change the wording to clarify the “THROUGH” part.. As I said it’s a very tasty recipe.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend.

On my second try with these. First time didn’t pay enough attention to time, overcooked. Still ENJOYED one everyday pre workout. In the oven… tho added a Tb of ground flax seed and a Tb of coconut flour, just for fun. Will see in about 10 min;)

I’ve made this twice this week. Hubby loves it! I am ok with eating plain oats with almond milk. He says my plain oats remind him of the Matrix. Such a timesaver too! I’ve never made overnight oats. I know, I am late to the party.

I just made these for my 20 month son and can only say… WOW! They were so quick and easy to whip up (I actually just pulsed the oats then threw everything else in the food processor to reduce the amount of clean up). Super healthy and oh so yummy! I found the recipe on a whim and boy am I glad! It will surely be a staple in our home in the fall!

Do you ever freeze these? If so, how do they taste? How do you defrost? I am planning on making later today but am new to freezing things and was curious.

I’m not sure which recipe you’re referring to b/c this comment shows up on the main recipage area. Let me know and then I can answer the freezing question.

For your ‘on the road’ bars, do you think they would turn out fine if almond butter was substituted for sunflower butter?

I’m sure that would be fine. They’re very similar.

Any ideas what I could use in place of the flax (which I can’t eat)? More almond flour? These sound delicious!

I was referring to the Carrot Muffins – sorry, thought it posted directly on that page!

Hi Bonnie- more almond flour or wheat germ + flour would probably work.
