Whole wheat peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes are like dessert for breakfast! This fluffy, doughy and moist stack is what pancake dreams are made of!

So….breakfast this weekend.
I got you covered.
No need to wake up Saturday or Sunday morning and think of what “special” thing to make because you finally have more than 5 minutes to shove it down your throat before getting out the door.
Did you know it was pancake week?
Of course you did. You’ve probably read it at least 100 times over like I have, bookmarked at least 10 delicious pancake recipes (you can see all 25+ of mine there!) to try out and wondered what the hell this whole Shrove thing was, right?
Or is that just me?
Totally had never even heard the word “shrove” until this week, reinforcing what a good Catholic I am I’m not.

It’s almost a stretch even calling these pancakes because they taste like straight up dessert.
There’s peanut butter and chocolate chips in them and on top. They remind me of a more decadent version of these sweet potato chocolate chip pancakes as well as the topping for my favorite fluffy chocolate waffles.
Orange juice will not suffice alongside, you’re going to want to pour yourself a glass of milk instead.

And just in case you’re struggling with some post meal guilt after these lovelies (which you really shouldn’t be because hey, they’re whole wheat and packed with protein!)…
All can be erased by eating an entire sheet pan of roasted vegetables for dinner.
Not that I’d know anything about that.
Side note – if you want two great protein packed pancake recipes try these protein pancakes and these pumpkin protein pancakes. They’re sure to keep you satisfied for hours with the amount of healthy protein in those guys!
These pineapple buckwheat pancakes are also a great non-traditional protein protein pancake option with some sneaky cottage cheese in that recipe.
Enjoy! Unless you’re one of those people that gave up chocolate for lent (fools…kidding!).
Only 38 more days…

ahhhhhh these look SO SO good!! I totally would love to indulge in these for breakfast one morning..or multiple mornings. the combination of peanut butter instead of syrup and chocolate chips just sounds perfect!! yum yum!!
Oh, sweet jesus, look at all that creamy, nutty sauce. These look so comforting and delicious. I’m just dying for a swipe of those dribbles.
You make the best looking pancakes always. I haven’t made pancakes in sooo so long, I just never have the desire to cook anything “elaborate” in the morning. And I feel bad for anyone who gave up chocolate…. not this girl!
oh! and have you ever used corn flour? kind of random, but I bought a bag a few days ago, as I was craving corn bread, fritters, corn pancakes, etc. but can’t seem to “perfect” my own recipe. I figured I’d leave it to the professionals (aka, you :)!!)
I’ve only used corn meal, which I assume is the same as corn flour just not ground (grinded?) as fine. My favorite use is in breakfast bakes. Ashley at Edible Perspective has a microwave corn flour one that I make all the time. So good and quick!
these rock! I only have a regular whole wheat flour. Do you think that would work?
Oops forgot to answer this one…yeah it would work, it will just be a bit more “earthy” and hearty tasting. You might want to increase the milk a little bit too.
Very nice and easy breakfast!
Now these are the way to my heart! All of my favorite ingredients :)
What the heck! Did you just whip this up this morning!?!? I’m dying to make pancakes but I have to wait until this weekend and it is literally KILLING me.
These just look incredible. I want them sitting in front of me right now.
haha, no. I totally ate these for lunch yesterday. ;)
Okay that makes me feel a little better about my life!
It’s a miracle if I can even get myself out of bed before 7am, let alone cook, photograph and post about it. Ha!
Haha yeah exactly! If I shower? It’s a GOOD day! Haha
Those look like the perfect pancakes! Fluffy but still somewhat dense/filling looking too. And you can’t beat the pb and choc combo!
I might try these out with peanut flour (and bananas) this weekend. The more peanut-y, the better. :) They’re so big and fluffy!
