HOW TO CUT TRI TIP

Do you know the important trick to properly cutting a tri tip roast or steak?

There are two different grains in a tri tip. 

Here the grain runs parallel to the meat

Here the grain runs at an angle

Find the intersection point and cut the steak in half.

This can be done before or after cooking.

Slice against the grain for each section of meat.

Cutting thinly on the bias will result in the most tender tri tip slices.
