This avocado pineapple smoothie bowl is packed full of superfoods for a healthy start to the day. The topping choices are endless!

You know those certain food items you just can’t function for a single meal without?
Yeah, avocados top that list for me.
Ever since doing this macro thing diet wise, they’re my go-to fat (unless it’s my last “dessert” meal of the day, then bring on the nut butters!).
If I don’t have at least 1/2 an avocado to accompany my usual egg and veggie breakfast scramble, heads are gonna roll.
Luckily, with a case of them arriving every month thanks to the California Avocado Commission, that hasn’t been much of a problem lately. Although, avocados can be frozen at their peak ripeness to preserve them for later too.
The obsession can live on.
Speaking of obsessions, besides avocados there are two more recent ones we need to discuss.
First up, Brothers Osborne.
You guys, I am full out OBSESSED with this duo.
Their first single, Stay A Little Longer from a few months back started it all but their newer one, 21 Summer has me in full blown fan girl status right now.
I must’ve listened to it on YouTube at least 150 times this weekend (I’m not even exaggerating in the slightest either).
It’s basically everything you want out of a summer country song; good beat and lyrics so relatable and nostalgic you’re literally transported right back to that exact memory and time in your life.
Summer concerts have already been googled and if I’m not in the grass ticket section, beer in hand, screaming that song at the top of my lungs at some point over the next few months, we’re going to have an “omg, we’re out of avocados” situation on hand.
Secondly, smoothie bowls.
Here’s the thing though, I was a smoothie bowl fan long before it was even on trend.
In fact, I was sitting here trying to persuade the haters (you know, those people who were all “why put your smoothie in a bowl when you can just drink it?” pshhh) how much better smoothie bowls actually were before the internet went all berserk about them.
So here I am, a true fan from the beginning and then I realized I don’t even have a smoothie bowl on this site.
Sadness.
Update* – this tart cherry coconut smoothie bowl now exists along with my pumpkin papaya gut healing smoothie too. Yay smoothie bowls!
To remedy that, I combined two of my obsessions into one with this avocado pineapple smoothie bowl.
The thing about smoothie bowls that sets them apart from their drinkable cousins is obviously the toppings.
If you’re not into toppings, just use a glass and drink the thing or make this avocado citrus smoothie instead.
If you’re into toppings (and who the heck wouldn’t be?!) grab a bowl and start pulling out pretty much every nut, seed, fruit in your pantry and fridge.
Heck, go pick some flowers from your garden bed (that’s where these pansies came from) even.
And if you’re the fancy kind (clearly, I’m not), you could attempt one of those gorgeous avocado roses on top.
The possibilities are endless.
No matter what you decide on, you’ve got one superfood packed bowl of green goodness (thanks to avocados, spinach, kiwi and pineapple) as an excellent breakfast option to start off your day.

I saw you making this on Snapchat I think! Gorgeous. I always prefer smoothie bowls, because the act eating them with a spoon imitates ice cream to me. Also, I’m the same way about avocados and eggs. It’s just a necessity and I rarely go a day without enjoying avocado toast.
So, I have to admit that I’m one of those people who thinks people should just drink their smoothies, but this recipe might have just changed my mind. These smoothie bowls are seriously gorgeous, Gina!
I only JUST got my frozen fruit a few days ago after being deprived by frozen fruit AND fresh fruit for a week. BOO. I’m so excited now! Anyways, I never actually tried putting avocado in a smoothie, but I bet it will lend such a wonderful and creamy texture! It may sound weird and all, but I’m all about that creamy smoothie life!
I have never made a smoothie bowl (although I’ve seen them at Jamba Juice). This might just be the first one I try, love the flavors in here :)
