These goat cheese honey stuffed plums are a sweet, cute and easy summer appetizer or snack.

You know these stuffed plums are legit when you open the fridge at 10pm for a quick snack because your 1.5 egg and swiss chard scramble for dinner kept you full for approximately 1 hour after a death by burpees crossfit class and you pick these instead of the chocolate glazed donuts.

Seriously, that happened.

I don’t even know who I am anymore.

Goat cheese stuffed plums

All I know is that my quads are scaaah-reaming and it’s only been 2 hours and 3 minutes (as I type this) since the class ended. Front squats + burpees. Who knew 2 moves could hurt so bad?

The weird part?

I’m hooked. Totally. Like paid for the rest of the “On-Ramp” classes before I even left kind of hooked. It’s funny how $50, $60, $70 for a regular gym membership always seemed like wasted money to me and I’d much rather just work out at home in my basement, yet I forked over $100+ without any hesitation for someone to tell me to do burpees until I physically couldn’t move anymore.

Stuffed plums with goat cheese

Before the class started I had to fill out some forms and waivers. You know, the basic stuff, I will not sue you if I get hurt, how much I weigh, height, fitness level, blah blah blah and then there was the food question…a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being “health nut” and 1 being “couch potato”. I circled 8.

I’d like to at least think I’m not an obsessive 10, but at the same time, I’m already internally freaking out about the fact that I have to attend a local work conference today and I know the lunch is going to be crap.

Between that and the late night fridge decision of goat cheese honey stuffed plums, I’m thinking a “9” would’ve been a bit more truthful. I guess if I have to be any sort of “nut” though, I’ll take the health one.

While I guess I could’ve made plum juice, sugar plums like these are the perfect size for stuffing and becoming a one to two bite appetizer or snack. Regular plums, or any other stone fruit, can also be used, you’ll just be satisfied with one rather than like five.

  1. I realize this post is from three years ago, but I felt the need to post a reply anyway.

Last week, in my last CSA basket of the year, I was given plums (regular, not sugar) and a container of honey. I’ve never eaten a plum in my life, but tasted one and liked it. I also don’t use too much honey and already had a full container, so I wondered what to do with these two items so they wouldn’t go to waste. Surely, they go together, I thought. So, as in so many other situations where I need answers, I turned to my trusted friend, Google. I typed in “recipe plum honey” and Google answered. As soon as I saw goat cheese included in this one, I knew I had found the happy destination for my plums.

I made these up using 12 of my plums – it seriously took about 10 minutes – and took them next door to my neighbor’s jewelry party. INSTANT HIT! And everyone thought I was a fancy schmancy chef type person because they were just so pretty. These are elegant and SO delicious! This recipe is a new keeper in my files and will be broken out for just about every party I ever go to from this point forward. Thank you so much!

  2. This recipe looks amazing. I love anything with goat cheese and luckily I got my husband addicted to it as well. Took some time! Ha.

  3. I just found you via foodgawker, and I have to say, I’d choose those stuffed plums over donuts any time. They looks soo good!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Lena! The plums are gone but the donuts are still there if that says anything ;)
